PROJECT MANAGER

The selected candidate will lead a suite of projects with oversight responsibility for teams, processes and tools. This position is accountable for the overall success of individual projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills and will be responsible for on-time and to-specification delivery a global Enterprise Planning project. The candidate is responsible for communicating project status and proactively working with project team members to correct negative trends to ensure delivery within budget and schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide program management, strategic planning, and executive decision support
  • Develop project plans, schedules and budgets
  • Manage project risks and issues
  • Facilitate regular project status meetings
  • Work with business leaders to quantify the project benefits
  • Document and communicate key project decisions
  • Effectively manage scope and change control
  • Work with technical staff in project estimation, budget creation, and project deliverable schedule
  • Manage all processes within the entire project lifecycle (initiate, plan, execute, monitor & control, close)
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects or one larger project
  • Determine the appropriate level of rigor in applying standard methods and tools for managing projects
  • Produce desired results by using appropriate techniques in all project management activities

Required Candidate Attributes:

Typically requires bachelor's degree (Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent experience, and a minimum of ten years of related IT system specifically software development experience. This experience must include:

  • 5+ years of direct work experience in the design, requirements definition, development, test and evaluation and deployment.
  • 5+ years of project supervisory/execution experience including supervising personnel, scheduling work, writing proposals and preparing bids.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project.
  • Broad experience with Enterprise Planning from a best-practice business processes perspective
  • Broad experience with best practices in healthcare administration, clinical practice, and clinical research maintaining software efforts using the software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology (including application design, development and implementation).
  • Identifying and defining overall project scope and manage all resources, including subcontractors, required to get to project completion.
  • Overseeing and directing senior-level program and project management and systems engineering, senior level database administration, systems/database engineering, software development, and information analysis.
  • Overseeing and directing services associated with the engineering, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, transitioning, and sustainment of existing clinical information systems.
  • Experience in monitoring the design and development of software utilizing Capability Maturity Model for Integration (CMMI) Level 3 processes and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
